Who we are

The Evangelical Reformed Church Villingen-Schwenningen (ERG-VS) is a growing Presbyterian congregation in southern Germany. It all began with regular meetings of families with Reformed convictions. Today, we are privileged to witness how Christ is building His church – on the firm foundation of God’s Word, through the power of the Gospel, and with biblically faithful elders.

Since 2024, we have been in the process of applying to join the EPCEW (Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England and Wales), with which we are united in confession, structure, and teaching.

How God has worked

The past years have been marked by God’s care and provision: Despite changing venues, limited resources, and external challenges, the Lord has strengthened and grown our congregation. We now count 75 members, including many families with children. Our Sunday services are regularly attended by up to 100 participants.

In addition to the Sunday service, we regularly hold prayer meetings, Sunday school, home groups, women’s and men’s meetings, and public events. The spiritual need is great, and we are grateful that the Lord is still working through His ordinary means of grace today.

How we need your help

1. A permanent home for the church

In 2021, we were able to move into a suitable building in the city Villingen. It serves as our gathering place for worship, teaching, and fellowship – a central location for our church life. We were only able to afford the purchase price through a loan of 440,000 Euros. 

2. Full-time pastor

Our Pastor, Andreas, serves with dedication in preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and leadership. Since March 2024, the congregation has been able to support him at 50%. Our goal is to employ him full-time, so he can fully dedicate himself to pastoral ministry. In addition to his duties, he is also working on his Master’s degree in Theology at the Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
